Last year, history was made when the first cinema opened in Saudi Arabia, followed by the opening of the first multiplex in the Kingdom. Just recently, another milestone has been made… this time by the Philippine entertainment industry!

That’s right! The film “Hello, Love, Goodbye” is making history as the first Filipino movie to be screened in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Mico del Rosario, Star Cinema executive, shared the fantastic news on Instagram just recently:

Filipino Movie Makes History in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
The romantic movie “Hello, Love, Goodbye,” which features Filipino stars Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards, opens in Jeddah this month, ABS-CBN News reported . With a running time of 120 minutes, the Tagalog language movie will include Arabic and English subtitles.
Set in Hong Kong, the film follows the story of Joy (Bernardo), a poor millennial who sees her domestic helper job as temporary. She is determined to uplift the lives of her family by eventually going to Canada, or wherever her dreams my take her. Along the way, she meets Ethan (Richards), a playboy bartender who is intent on living permanently in the city.
Amid all the hardships of working abroad, Joy and Ethan form a friendship that turns into love. But with Ethan soon to become an official resident of Hong Kong, and Joy’s imminent plans to leave… is there a future for them, or will their individual dreams push them apart?
