Up to 4000 Overseas Filipino Workers in the Middle East have lost their jobs in Oil companies. According to a report from GMA News & Public Affairs, the Philippine Association of Service Exporters, Incorporated (PASE), 15% of their clients have decreased their demand for workers, and this includes 50 OFWs of an oil company in Saudi Arabia. These Filipinos still haven’t gone back home to the country.
PASE is an association which includes the biggest recruitment agencies in the Philippines. As reported, the reason for laying off the employees is due to the oil price drop in the world market.
