How to Check If Your Saudi Employment Contract Is Authenticated

Expats employed by private-sector companies in Saudi Arabia can use Qiwa to check whether their work contract has been electronically authenticated.

The employer first creates and submits the contract through Qiwa.

The worker then receives the contract request through an individual Qiwa account.

According to the Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, the contract is considered certified and approved by the ministry when both parties agree to its terms.

This electronic record is more reliable than relying only on a printed offer letter or a contract sent through email or messaging apps.

How to Check If Your Saudi Work Contract Is Authenticated

Open Employment Contracts in your Qiwa account

Workers can follow these steps to check a contract:

  1. Sign in to their individual account at Qiwa.
  2. Open Services.
  3. Select Employment Contracts.
  4. Review pending, current, or previous contracts.
  5. Open the relevant contract and check its status and details.

A pending contract has not yet completed the worker’s approval process.

Once the worker approves it and completes the verification step, it becomes authenticated.

Qiwa explains that an authenticated contract becomes active on its official start date.

Check every amount before clicking accept

Workers should not approve a contract simply because the employer’s name is correct.

The contract should be compared with the original job offer and actual working arrangement.

Review the following details:

  • Employer’s registered name
  • Worker’s name and identification details
  • Job title and occupation
  • Basic salary
  • Housing and transport allowances
  • Other agreed cash benefits
  • Work location and working hours
  • Contract start and end dates
  • Probation and notice periods
  • Annual leave and other terms

If a detail is wrong, the worker can request a modification or reject the contract.

Qiwa’s official contract review guide says workers have 10 days to respond to a pending request.

The request is automatically cancelled if the worker does not respond within that period.

Approval requires a phone verification code

To approve a pending contract, open its details and select Accept contract.

After accepting the terms, Qiwa sends a four-digit verification code to the registered phone number.

Enter the code and confirm the request.

Workers should save a copy after approval and regularly check that the Qiwa record matches their salary deposits and payslips.

Domestic workers use a different platform

Qiwa contract documentation mainly covers private-sector company employees.

Workers employed by households, including household workers and private drivers, should check their employment records through Musaned.

Workers who cannot access their contract or see incorrect information may contact Qiwa support or HRSD at 19911.
