No Filipinos Affected by Explosions in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) said no Filipinos were affected by the explosions in Riyadh on Friday night and Saturday morning of September 18 and 19. The blasts followed drone and ballistic missile attacks attributed to Houthi militants, which targeted the Saudi capital and energy sites along the Red Sea coast.

The DMW said it is closely monitoring the situation of Filipinos in the Kingdom through its Migrant Workers Offices (MWOs), the labor arm of the department stationed in host countries. The MWOs are working in close coordination with the Philippine Embassy and Consulate, both of which are ready to assist overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who may need help.

Advisory for OFWs

Through the MWOs, the DMW advised OFWs to remain vigilant and to follow the guidance and advisories issued by Saudi authorities. Workers who need assistance are urged to coordinate immediately with the Migrant Workers Offices of the Philippine Embassy and Consulates.
