The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development says the Ajeer permit is an electronic legal document recognized under Saudi labor rules.
The service was launched on May 21, 2026, and the ministry lists its processing time at around five working days. The service itself is free.

Step 1: Log In to the Ajeer Platform
Start by accessing the official Ajeer platform.
You can sign in using your Qiwa account or through Saudi Arabia’s National Access Portal.
After logging in, open the permit services section.
Step 2: Choose Temporary Work Permit
From the main menu, select Permit Services and then choose the option to issue a temporary work permit.
You will need to enter information about the worker, including:
- ID or Iqama number
- Occupation
- Intended work duration
Review the details carefully before submitting them.
Step 3: Agree to the Terms and Submit
Read the terms and conditions before accepting them.
Once the request is submitted, it will be sent for approval by the receiving or beneficiary establishment.
The permit becomes valid only after the application is approved under the applicable rules.
Who May Be Eligible?
The ministry lists specific conditions depending on the type of applicant.
For establishments, eligible businesses in the education and health sectors must generally be within the required Nitaqat range, starting from low green and above.
For certain accompanying dependents, both the dependent and the main expatriate must have valid residency permits.
The accompanying person must also be at least 18 years old and may need professional accreditation if the occupation requires it.
Eligible family relationships listed by the ministry include a husband, wife or mahram.

The expected processing period is around five working days, although actual approval may depend on the worker’s case and the establishment involved.
