Expatriate workers in Saudi Arabia who are moving to a new company can complete the employer transfer process through the Qiwa platform.
The service allows a new employer to request the transfer of a worker from another establishment without visiting the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development.
According to HRSD, the service is fully electronic and is available through Qiwa.
Your New Employer Starts the Transfer
One important point is that the worker does not start the transfer request alone.
The new employer must log in to its Qiwa Business account and open the Employee Service Transfer section.
The employer then chooses the option to employ a worker from another employer and selects the establishment where the worker is currently registered.
Your Iqama Details Are Added to the Request
The new employer must enter the worker’s information, including the ID or Iqama number and date of birth.
After checking the worker’s details, the employer adds the employee to the transfer request.
A new employment contract must then be created as part of the process.
Log In to Qiwa and Review the Offer
Once the request is submitted, the worker must log in to Qiwa Individuals.
The employee can then review the transfer request and the employment contract offered by the new employer.
The worker must accept or reject the request through the platform before the transfer can continue.
Before accepting, check details such as salary, job title, contract period, working hours and other conditions carefully.
The New Company Must Also Qualify
Not every establishment can automatically transfer a foreign worker.
HRSD says the new employer must meet several requirements.
These include having a valid commercial registration, maintaining valid work permits, following the Wage Protection System and meeting the required Saudization classification.
The establishment must also have enough available transfer capacity.
No Paper Documents Are Normally Required
HRSD states that the standard employee-transfer service is automated and does not normally require paperwork.
The ministry also lists the service as free on its official page.
However, fees connected to other government processes or worker records may still apply depending on the case.
What Expats Should Know Before Accepting
Do not accept a transfer request until you have reviewed the new contract and confirmed that the employer details are correct.
If the request does not appear in your Qiwa account, contact the new employer first to confirm that it was submitted correctly.
