A 44-year-old former Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) who once worked in Saudi Arabia has won more than ₱25.1 million in the Super Lotto 6/49.
According to the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), the winner used numbers connected to the death anniversaries of loved ones.
Those meaningful numbers eventually became the winning combination that changed his family’s future.
Family Dates Turn Into Winning Combination
The former OFW won Php 25,187,181.56 during the Super Lotto 6/49 draw held on August 4, 2026.
His winning combination was:
11-20-12-36-44-26
PCSO said the numbers were inspired by important dates connected to deceased family members.
The agency announced the winner’s story on August 25.
The man later went to the PCSO Main Office in Mandaluyong with his wife to claim the jackpot.
Life After Working in Saudi Arabia
Before becoming a millionaire, the winner had worked overseas in Saudi Arabia.
After returning to the Philippines, he started a sari-sari store, which he currently manages.
Like many former OFWs, he moved from overseas employment to running a small business at home.
His years working abroad and his experience as a business owner have influenced how he plans to use the prize money.
Rather than depending only on his winnings, he wants to strengthen the livelihood he has already started.
Jackpot Will Help Grow His Small Business
The winner told PCSO that part of the money will be used to expand his sari-sari store.
This could give his family a stronger and more stable source of income in the years ahead.
He also plans to set aside money for his children’s education.
For the former OFW and his wife, the jackpot marks the start of a new chapter after years of working and building a livelihood for their family.
PCSO Reminds Winners About Claiming Rules
PCSO reminds lotto players that winning prizes must be claimed within one year from the draw date. Unclaimed prizes after this period are forfeited.
The agency’s Citizen’s Charter also states that lotto winnings above Php 10,000 are subject to a 20% final tax under existing tax rules.
Super Lotto 6/49 draws are normally held every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday at 9 p.m.
