18 Distressed OFWs Return to Philippines from Riyadh with Government Support

Eighteen Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) have safely returned to the Philippines from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with the Department of Migrant Workers and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration on hand to welcome and assist them upon arrival.

The group of distressed workers landed aboard Cebu Pacific Flight 5J741. They were met at the airport by the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), who provided immediate assistance to ease their transition back home.

Airport Welcome and Immediate Assistance

Upon arrival, the returning OFWs received the support they needed right at the airport. DMW and OWWA teams worked together to make sure each worker was cared for from the moment they touched down.

Key details of the return include:

  • 18 distressed OFWs repatriated from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
  • Arrival aboard Cebu Pacific Flight 5J741
  • Airport assistance provided by both DMW and OWWA
  • Coordinated welcome and welfare services on the ground

Onward Travel and Welfare Support

The help does not stop at the airport. OWWA and DMW are coordinating the workers’ onward travel to their home provinces, along with other welfare assistance they may need.

This support covers:

  • Assistance with travel to each worker’s home province
  • Welfare services tailored to individual needs
  • Continued coordination between OWWA and DMW to ensure a smooth journey home

Continued Care Through Regional Offices

Support for the returning workers and their families will continue well beyond their arrival. Through its Regional Welfare Offices, OWWA will keep delivering welfare assistance and other services to help each OFW rebuild and restart within their communities.

These offices serve as a reliable point of contact, offering guidance and practical help as workers and their families find their footing again.
